An Open Letter to Life

Who is the most patient person you know?

I would have to say I’m pretty patient, but I think my boyfriend/husband (he should be, he pretty much acts like my husband) is way more patient. I know this because he deals with me on a regular basis, and that is definitely not an easy job. He has to deal with my whiny, not going to bed on time, bitchy, and just plain Yankee rude self. And I have to deal with all his southern habits, which if I dare say are pretty cute.

Topic 285:

Would you rather have the first word, or the last in an argument? Some people prefer to speak first, others insist they have the advantage only if they get in the last word. Where do you stand?

Depends on where the argument is taking place. We all know that in this day in age it is most likely if you are on the internet, you have had an argument on facebook or myspace or something. In certain situations I will let the person have the last word, but most of the time I am a last word kind of person. Unless this person has mad a total ass out of themselves, only in front of others, will I let them have the last word. So here’s my chart on last words or not….

Situation

1. Facebook:

A. If I was trolling, and they kept egging me on, then no they will not have the last word.

B. If I am having an argument with someone and they are obviously making themselves look even more ignorant then they already are, then possibly yes. I will usually just put LOL, until they stop.

C. If I post a status about someone, and they obviously know it is about them, which usually I will just put their name in it. Then no, because I started it, I will end it.

D. If you send me a message talking crap, I will put it in a note for everyone to see. Because that shit is retarded, then…again I will have the last word.

2. Life.

I always have the last word, because I have a right to my opinion and I will state it until you acknowledge it is fair. If we are still arguing, you clearly have not grasped my opinion, so therefore, you are aiding in keeping the argument alive.

What is the best way to tax people? Countries around the world use different approaches. Which do you think is best? Or should their be no taxes at all? What does it mean for everyone to pay their fair share?

Well, I think that taxes are helpful in a way. I mean, I think that everyone should pay taxes, but I don’t think they should be as high as they are. It’s kind of ridiculous that they take almost 1/3 of your earnings. I think the percentage that they take from you should be around, 20 percent. Maybe less, because it will even out when it comes to people who make more than someone else. If you make 20,000 and you take 20 percent of that. Here’s why I think this is fair

Person

Average Earnings               Tax                  Amount That would be

taken out

$10,000                                   20%                           $2,000

$20,000                                   20%                          $4,000

$30,000                                   20%                          $6,000

$40,000                                   20%                          $8,000

$50,000                                   20%                          $10,000

$1,000,000                             20%                          $200,000

$25,000,000                          20%                          $5,000,000

$1,000,000,000                    20%                         $200,000,000

Average                           Tax Amount                      Actual Earned

1. $10,000                              $ 2,000                         $8,000

2. $20,000                             $4,000                         $16,000

3. $30,000                             $6,000                         $24,000

4. $40,000                             $8,000                         $32,000

5. $50,000                             $10,000                       $40,000

6. $1,000,000                       $200,000                   $800,000

7. $25,000,000                    $5,000,000               $20,000,000

8. $1,000,000,000              $ 200,000,000       $800,000,000

Now, for fun if you add all these types together, lets see how much the USA would make with 8 people of every financial group

Person                                                                                Amount

of taxes taken

1.  Regular in or out of HS

first time job                                                   +    $2,000

2.  Regular job worker

average middle class                                        +    $4,000

3.  A lucky middle

class family, in this economy                         +    $6,000

4,  A well educated family,

planned well, and has a career                      +   $8,000

5.  Borderline High Class                                  +    $10,000

6.  Super High Class                                             +    $200,000

7. Ridiculously over paid                               +    $5,000,000

8. Oprah Rich                                                         +    $200,000,000

_________________

Add That all together and you get              $205,230,000

Now, take that amount, and half it. You will have $102,615,000. Take one half and put it toward our debt, and take the other an add it to what we can spend as a country. Right now we are spending more than we are earning and it is time to take responsibility for what we have done. This is fair because it is taking the same percentage out on everyone whether you are just barely getting by or if you are Oprah rich 🙂

If you found $1000 worth of superballs, and had a free afternoon, what creative use could you put them towards? Can you think of a clever way to use them or a prank you could pull on a friend or co-worker? Write about it.

Hmm, I would probably do one of  two things

One-  Dump them all off the tallest building in the world just to see how high the first bounce is.

Two- Get them all in select colors and make a giant picture of out them.

Describe the perfect sandwich.  You have up to $5,000 to spend. Be creative.

Oh my, this makes me hungry. The perfect sandwich would probably be the same sandwich, but the costly thing would probably be the setting! My favorite sandwiches are tuna sandwiches. I love tuna, always have! When the family is broke and all you have is 49…..wow, I just realized that there is no cent sign on the keyboard. Hmm, Imagine that. Anywho, 49 CENT can of tuna to eat, you learn to love it. So back to the main point, my ideal sandwich would be tuna, on that bread they serve at Outback Steakhouse, the bread would be warm and the tuna would be cold, the tuna would have lots of dill relish mixed in, it would have handful’s of pickles and american cheese on it. That sub, would be accompanied with Doritos’ Cool Ranch, (this sounds like my order at subway!) But, what makes this sandwich special, is that I am eating it in Florence, Italy! This is my ideal sandwich

Well, I have always written. I’ve often thought of publishing what I have came up with on here, but of course it’s all silly and joking from high school English Classes. Nothing has ever ‘assisted’ me in writing other than a clear mind and a good topic, maybe a warm cup of coffee. I can already see now that this post if going to be short because I really don’t have any ideas, maybe I should take my advice and fix myself some coffee. Although, it would be good for this site to post maybe “engine starting” topics, sort of like a starter subject on the dashboard, of course if you didn’t want it you could always opt out, but who wouldn’t!

Sometimes you can make a topic appear out of nothing at all. Do the following.

  1. Make sure you are somewhere safe.
  2. Guess how long you can keep your eyes closed.
  3. Close your eyes.
  4. Start counting.
  5. See how long you can go.
Write about any or all of:
  1. How close your guess was to your actual performance.
  2. What thoughts did your mind wander to while you were counting?
  3. Did you feel any fear? Why or why not?
This project was an eye-opener! (ha!) I never realized how loud silence is. My guess was that I could keep my eyes closed for 5 minutes. I made it 145 seconds, because my thoughts were moving so fast that I didn’t think I’d be able to remember them all because to me, they were all so good. So, here’s my thought process.
First, as soon as I closed my eyes I kept thinking about how much I wanted to open them. Then I thought, “Wow, I bet I look stupid sitting here tapping my feet every second.” Then my mind wandered somewhere I haven’t thought of in a long time. I know whoever reads this probably doesn’t know me personally at the moment, because I will be honest, friends in my life are few and far between. As sad as it is to say, I wish I had someone to be “best friends” with, but this is for another blog on a rainy day. Anywho, my mind wandered to a ‘friend’ I thought I had a few days ago. I fight occurred, and I just dropped the situation like a hot potato, blocked this person from facebook so I could no longer be put in the middle of the drama, and during this silence I had all I could think about is how much I felt bad, but when I opened my eyes the sadness I felt wasn’t present. It’s like, when I closed my eyes my inner self was letting me, the outer self, know that deep down I was hurt. So that was surprising. Then my next thought happened, and it never really occurred to me that I had an interest in something like this. A few days ago I heard some news that my sister was starting a new business in her town, and that got me thinking on how I’ve always admired her for all that she has done in her life that I would like to one day own my own business. I am a licensed cosmetologist and I had always thought that I would own a salon and yada yada yada. But, the ‘friend’ I mentioned above that we had a falling out, we use to go out a lot on the weekends to bars and shoot some pool and go out to eat. They (they as in, we had a falling out with another couple) were the first people that we did such things with. I realized after all those times of us hanging out that I enjoyed the social and friendly environment of  sports bars and this sparked an idea that my business that I want to own is a local sports bar. So, as I was sitting in my loud silence I was thinking more of my future and how I wanted to own my own bar, and how I wanted to decorate my future house, and it was actually spinning out of control. I think I have found something that I want to feel excited about. I didn’t feel fear at all or anything, it was a happy loud silence 🙂
Well, I guess that’s enough of that. Getting personal on the blog here haha….I guess that’s the point right?
